IT IS sad to read all the complaints in the Lancashire Telegraph about the sorry state of the bus services in Blackburn, but I do have to say it was bound to happen.
Since Lancashire United took over, it is clear what they have planned for the future and that is to make as much money as possible from the people who need to use public transport.
The only routes nobody has problems with are rounds 1, 6 and 7 and that is because they are in competition with other operators and are the routes all the brand new buses are working on.
The other routes are so badly served, by mid-life buses (of which the double deckers used now were new between 1984 and 1989) and the prices are obscene.
Highercroft, Leyburn Road, Beardwood and Openshaw Drive routes are still served by non-low-floor buses and at present there are petitions going around regarding the way routes 2, 8 and 9 are being run.
This is not good enough for the people living in Blackburn and we deserve much better. It is about time Lancashire United realised this.
