AS A friend of Blackburn Museum, I have had the privilege of seeing some of the many artefacts in store, when I regretted that the general public just do not appreciate the treasures that cannot be seen due to lack of exhibition space.
In Blackburn we possess items of national importance and the museum staff are to be congratulated on the exhibitions which they mount.
But, we desperately need an extension, which is possible as the space is available and has not yet been sold off to create more offices.
With a large museum we could even bid, once again, for city status.
Wake up Blackburn Council.
