I THINK it is time for thought before the building of three super prisons.
Why should we have to think about the building of prisons of this size, which could house 10,500 on top of the 9,500 already planned?
Do our MPs think that the present trend is going to carry on into the future?
Like all of our present breakdowns in the society at the time, the starting place for these problems is in the home, due to lack of proper supervision and early training of children.
The present way of thinking of the parents is to earn as much money as possible in order to give what they think is very important for their child, or children.
Sadly, this is not what the children want at this time in their lives.
They need to really have their mother there.
Her very presence would give the children a feeling of being safe, loved and confidence.
Our MPs should re-think this proposal and also the vast amount of the taxpayers' money involved.
I would like to remind people that our Government is not a public nurse.
You have to stand on your own feet and sort out what is right for you and your families.
GEORGE WELSH, Stanhill Lane, Oswaldtwistle.
