MY wife, the mother of my children is buried in Pleasington Cemetery, Blackburn.
I went to the grave last week and I found that her headstone had been tied up and a piece of paper stuck on her headstone.
Who could have desecrated my wife's resting place like this? Hooligans, druggies, thugs? No, the council.
They say that the headstones on almost 40 per cent of gravestones are dangerous, that they could be pulled over and hurt someone. Yet no one has been hurt in Pleasington Cemetery by falling headstones.
If people are afraid of headstones falling over or on them, then my suggestion is lie the headstones down.
Use the plinth as a pillow, therefore no danger to anyone and still respecting our loved ones.
MR B BRINDLE, Willow Tree Drive, Blackburn.
