During the last two or three decades there have been a number of significant changes in society but one of the saddest must be the descent of the BBC into an organisation that has lost its way.

The Corporation is now trading on its former reputation and past glories.

There is some excellent output but this has to be set against much that is mediocre and some that is truly dire.

News and current affairs is lacking in both rigour and analysis.

The bias and outright deception in some of its reporting and commentary is truly shocking.

Documentaries now seem to argue from a conclusion rather than towards one. Light entertainment is a desert.

Not content with this, the Corporation has allowed listeners and viewers to be deceived, including young children.

Meanwhile it squanders vast amounts of licence payers' money on salaries of personalities', such as Jonathan Ross.

Then to add insult to injury the BBC has the gall to tell us It's your BBC'. It is nothing of the sort.

When did the BBC last ask you what you would like to see or listen to?

The BBC is the producers' BBC, and it always has been. It's run as a private club funded by taxation (the licence fee).

The case for a public sector broadcaster, free from the state and funded by public subscription is a strong one.

Sadly the BBC no longer fulfils this remit.
