I WANT to tell you about a football match I witnessed the other week in Coca Cola League Two, Morecambe v Bradford City, attendance 4,761 - Morecambe's highest home gate.
The kick off was put back 15 minutes to allow everybody to get in safely due to traffic problems. Terraces behind each goal, a real atmosphere all round the ground. A taste of how football grounds used to be, before the all-seater thing came in.
Morecambe came from behind to win 2-1 in the last minute. The crowd went mad. The players showed passion, a will to win. It took me back to the proper days when football was the game it was in the sixties and seventies.
I left at the end thinking I'd just witnessed a great game of football.
If I was offered a choice of watching lower division football or the Premiership, I know which I'd choose!
