WHY oh why won't Blackburn with Darwen Council listen to the voice of the populace? The voice of common sense.
Why does it insist on building Darwen Academy in such a stupid place? What advantage is there in having it in the middle of town?
In order to take a child from the Sudell area across town to St Joseph's Primary School I already have to go twice the distance so that I can get across Bolton Road.
If I go by what was my normal route before the new road system came into being it will take me an extra 20 minutes wasting petrol and polluting the atmosphere.
What will it be like when the proposed academy opens? Absolute mayhem I think. I haven't heard a single person support the idea so why are our councillors not fighting tooth and nail to revise the plans?
A sports academy without a sports field?
There can only be one reason for this stupidity and we all know that the Darwen Moorland site will be sold for building land at a huge profit.
It's too late to save the Redearth properties but for goodness sake save our town.
E EASTHAM, Milton Close, Darwen.
