Well, they can't even let the dead rest in peace any longer!
Not content with having removed living communities from their perfectly habitable homes in which they had hoped to end their days (I refer of course to the Redearth residents in Darwen whose homes have been compulsorily purchased to enable an academy to be built on the most unsuitable site possible) Blackburn with Darwen Council now intends to disinter the remains of our forefathers from a consecrated site to enable a road to be built.
Where are the remains going to be re-interred?
Will it be done with dignity or in the same cavalier fashion they have treated the memorials in other cemeteries?
I wouldn't be surprised if they intend putting all the remains in one grave and not caring if the headstones are damaged in the process.
