I AM writing to express my frustration at trying to park in supermarkets.
I have a seven-month-old baby and find the baby and child spaces invaluable, however quite a number of selfish people insist on parking in these spaces when they have no children in the car.
Parent and child spaces are generally wider which means I can open the car door fully to strap my baby in and out of the car without struggling. I have found that the worst culprit for parking in baby and parent spaces are generally people with disabled badges.
I understand that this may mean people have trouble walking and they want to park near the store but there are disabled spaces provided in all the supermarkets,.
This morning I shopped at Asda in Accrington. I managed to get a baby space as a car was pulling out as I drove past. However, I was horrified to notice that out of six baby and child spaces, four were taken by people with disabled badges.
I noticed on entering the store that there were at least 10 disabled spaces vacant where these people could have parked.
I wouldn't dream of parking in a disabled space so why do these people feel they can park in baby spaces?
Is it too much to ask for some common courtesy and decency?
Please do not park in a parent and child space unless you have a young child in the car - leave the spaces for people who genuinely need them.
