I AM a professional driver of 40 years' standing and use the Whitebirk roundabout daily.
It's a pity the roadworks have to be carried out at all.
If drivers left more space between themselves and the vehicle in front, if they negotiated the roundabout at much lower speeds and with more courtesy then the present problem would not exist.
Sadly, courtesy is minimal on todays roads so therefore this action is necessary.
The new road changes at Whitebirk will work only if drivers obey the traffic lights.
