I USUALLY read the Saturday column on eating out. Now my wife and I, being pensioners, are quite sceptical of the prices being described as reasonable - £40 odd for two.
That will keep us for a week cooking at home.
Now I am not one to eulogise on eating places, but having visited Grandma Pollards inWalsden on a few occasions, I can honestly recommend representatives of eating out to pay a visit, but it is only open till tea time though!
You can eat in the restaurant or on the minibus parked at the back or even on the seat on the canal banking.
All this waitress served at no extra charge.
Wonderful. I describe the fish and chips as really tasty, piping hot, with a crispy batter and they even tthrow a potato dab in free of charge.
Where is it?
Through Todmorden on Rochdale Road to Walsden, plainly signed Grandma Pollards.
Car park for about six cars, but over the narrow canal bridge there are plenty of parking spaces, but not on the main road please.
FRANCIS CROSS, Eagle Street, Accrington.
