Having been so disappointed with the parking enforcement team, as a visitor to Blackburn - or should I say ex-visitor - I would like to feedback my thoughts.
Having parked in the Waves car park and visited Waves I popped into town for a cuppa. I had a few minutes on the my ticket but purchased another, therefore paying twice for those minutes.
The first machine was now out of order so I walked over to the next machine and bought a ticket.
I put in £1 - fee required was 90p. I returned shortly after the ticket had run out to find I had been issued with a ticket five minutes after the ticket (that I had paid extra for) had run out.
The car park was virtually empty.
I appealed but it was rejected as the ticket issuer had given me 5 minutes extra!
In view of the Prime Minister's guidelines regarding councils allowing 15 minutes extra I think Blackburn's policies are punitive and not good for business.
I am sure I am not the first to suffer such treatment.
No doubt there are many other visitors who won't send feedback but will vote, as I shall, with my feet.
Following this incident I have now located another source where visitors are more welcomed.
I think that the least Blackburn with Darwen Council could do is to send my 10p change!
