ARE there any descendants still in Blackburn from the following: James Lang (b 1823, d 1887) and his wife Margaret Lang nee Eccles (b 1821, died 1907)?
We know that in 1871 and 1881 they were living in Oozehead Lane and Margaret later lived in Wensley Road.
They had nine children in all and amongst them were Isabella (born 1851) who married Richard Moss. Then came William (born 1855) who married Alice Riding and had three children who were William (born 1877), Margaret Ellen (born 1882) and James Randolph (born 1887).
Margaret Ellen married Robert Blackburn in 1904 and later lived at 308 Livesey Branch Road which was near to St Andrew's Church where the name of her brother James Randolph Lang is commemorated on a plaque for those missing and killed in World War I.
Margaret Ellen died in 1927. If anyone recognises any of the above names we would be pleased to hear from them.
