WE, the councillors who courted popularity according to Mike Madigan did our homework before making promises to the electorate.
We were responding to the wishes of electors who are fed up with the smells and health problems associated with fortnightly household rubbish collectons.
Far from acting irresponsibly we were merely anticipating the latest call from the (Labour) Government which encourages all councils to re-introduce weekly collections of food refuse on health grounds.
