THE young lad, Nathan Campbell needs to have the book thrown at him' for his actions. 140mph and using a mobile phone!
This is another reason why newly-qualified drivers should only be allowed to drive lower powered cars during say the first two years after passing the driving test.
However, on a slightly different tack, the recently introduced penalty of three points and £60 fine for using a mobile phone whilst driving in my opinion does not seem to have reduced the number of offenders.
I travel around Blackburn daily and have lost count of the number of people using their mobiles. Van drivers seem to be the worst offenders.
There does need to be a stronger penalty, perhaps an immediate driving ban and/or the vehicle to be impounded. Perhaps severe, but probably very necessary.
