ANOTHER case of deja vu.
How many times have we been told that Baileys Field is NOT being used for development, housing or otherwise.
I have even been told by Darwen town councillors that there will be no development on the field. BUT not only the council, our own MP, Mr Berry also denied the rumours. Well, at least in Darwen – what is decided in Westminster is probably a country mile from the decisions we are being made aware of here.
I now feel like Cilla Black, surprise, surprise.
Baileys is in the centre of a massive new build and it now seems the whole area is going to be destroyed by overdevelopment. If, as has been said, only a road will be built, don’t believe it. Road=houses=development.
Baileys Field has been put forward every time development is talked of, it’s rolled out like an old bike then rolled back again.
We have hundreds of acres of “wasted land” in this area but we always seem to get the same old, same old story. Please leave Baileys alone, go and find another site. As for the road, what a cracking race circuit for the local F1 drivers.
Think on.
Just as a final note, the drains in this town are renown for not being able to cope with an excess amount of water. Until we get new and better drainage, this town will keep flooding, quarts and pints have never worked just because the powers that be think we need new, more expensive housing.
