Re: Helen Mead column (LT, Monday March 3).

Her feature hit the nail on the head regarding awkward packaging.

In the past, opening tins of corned beef, the square ones with a key, was a nightmare and dangerous. Now I avoid them like the plague.

Opening packets of biscuits too is frustrating. Amazingly, man can go to space to discover any life on planets, yet no-one has discovered easy means and safe design in packaging.

Also, it would be of great assistance if there was larger printing on labels.

Sheila Brennan, Blackburn A great read n Although not a regular reader of the Lancashire Telegraph, I think it’s worth the money to read Helen Mead.

She hits the nail on the head.
