YOU report that health campaigners and MPs have welcomed the possibility of a new surgical unit and opthalmology centre and Burnley General Hospital.
That’s the problem, though: many do not want to travel for specialist services or even basic ones like maternity.
It’s rumoured all cardiac services are on the move to Manchester.
We in Blackburn had a working hospital with a full range of services, but no longer since the health authority decided to waste money via a PFI and build a hospital that is not fit for purpose and out of reach of many unless you go by ambulance or pay for a taxi.
