DESPITE wholesale gas purchase prices reaching a low in October, British Gas will not be cutting prices (retail) to customers until spring 2007.
A whole host of reasons were given except the true one and only reason, that winter (Oct to March) bills will be higher than April to July bills.
So British Gas are cynically retaining the higher prices in an exhibition of greed and disregard for the interests of customers.
No such leeway was granted when it came to the 2005-2006 price increases.
At the mere whiff of a wholesale purchase increase, the retail customer price was raised at once and in some cases in advance of projected wholesale purchase increase.
Not cutting prices now stinks to high heaven and British Gas should be ashamed.
It is the unacceptable face of corporate bullying.
