BLACKBURN with Darwen Council is guilty of double standards on rubbish collection.

First it has cameras all over the town centre to catch people dropping rubbish in the town centre so it can fine the unsuspecting pedestrian to try and clean up the town centre. All well and good.

Second, and in my eyes the worse of the two, the council tells residents to put out their rubbish by 7.30am on the day of the refuse collection.

The collection is not made until in some places 3.30pm or 4.30pm. When the wind is blowing all day or children start to knock it over the wind gets at it and distributes it all over the place.

I call this method collection by wind distribution. Who will then fine the council for littering?

The place looks like a bomb has been dropped at times.

In the past the bin men had a spade and brush on the wagon and any rubbish spilled out would be cleaned up, but now it looks like they kick it about until they lose it.

It seems to me that it is a case of don't do as I do but do as I tell you.

Get your act together Blackburn with Darwen. It is time to get rid of the gang of eight and get a set of councillors which can work together and not follow like sheep.
