I WAS totally amazed to learn from the news recently how much translators are costing the hard-working people of Britain.
Why is it costing us taxpayers over £100m a year in translators for foreign nationals, or dare I say some who are now classed as British citizens although you could not tell.
There was a lady on the news (December 12) who had been living in this country for 23 years, but still does not know how to speak English.
How can our Governments have failed us like this?
People who come to this country should be able to speak fluent English otherwise how can they offer the economy anything?
How can they contribute?
All they will do is come claim the handouts that are on offer to them which drains the public funds.
It is no wonder that there are flocks of British people who are moving away from this country.
