you hear and read so much on TV and in the papers about poor standards of care and staff in care homes.
My sister is on the residential unit at Old Gates in Blackburn and the care she receives is excellent. She has come on in leaps and bounds.
The unit is run exceptionally well by the unit manager Angela. The staff work incredibly hard and expectations from the manager are high and this shows in the standard of care the residents receive. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
We as a family are always kept informed. My sister is happy and her needs are more than met.
They have a choice of meals and snacks. The home is very clean with no odour. The residents are always treated with dignity and respect. We are very grateful for the excellent care and standards at the home.
