RE: Rossendale and Darwen Labour party candidate brands energy rise ‘a kick in the teeth’.

Okay, why didn’t the previous Labour Government tackle the problem of privatised utilities taking their customers for a ride back then – no doubt for the same reason the next Labour government won’t do what the vast majority of the people want them to do – ie. nationalise them but not as in 1945 but by taxing them in shares so that the government eventually takes a 51 per cent stake or some other ‘cheap’ method.

The same for the railways which would be much easier as the companies are almost all subsidised – the subsidies being partly taken as profit.

But will Labour do this – oh no, they are locked into the same neo-liberal economics as the other main parties and which have failed the people of this and other European countries.

Time for a bold and brave alternative, as in 1945, otherwise we will continue the long march back to the worst aspects of life in Victorian times.

I note we now once more have children with rickets, surely a sign that social conditions in the UK are returning to those of earlier times – times our forefathers fought to improve.

Tell us what brave things the Labour Party will do for the people Will.
