RE: Vicious dogs ‘tore pet cat to pieces’ in Darwen.

If you can’t raise a dog to be kind and loving then, quite frankly, you should be blacklisted from ever owning a pet again.

Bear in mind these creatures have been selectively bred for that purpose for thousands of years, taking a lot of ‘instinct’ out of their being.

Now I’m not an animal psychologist or biologist, but I’m pretty sure if there is a reason that is out of your control that your dog is violent etc, then a vet would definitely bring it up and say your dog has this syndrome etc... If not, you are solely responsible for raising your dog to be kind to others. It’s no different to raising a kid who goes around shouting, kicking and screaming at everyone... chances are it’s your fault that the dog/kid whatever is like that. Take some responsibility.

I understand that the vast majority of dog owners are responsible owners and do love and care for their pets as they would a child. It’s just unfortunate that the ‘Chavs’ get their rottweilers, pit bulls etc so that they look “like an ’ard man” when walking around.

There is a direct link between these terribly vicious and violent dogs and those who breed/rear and raise them. We shouldn’t hide away from this through fear of “stereotyping”. Address the situation in an honest, blunt and respectful way.
