RE: Unlocked cars in Blackburn shock police (LT, October 21).
So you have a £200 excess on your insurance policy. They break into your car by smashing a door lock or a window, and it costs £200 to get it repaired.
Now if you leave your car unlocked and it gets nicked, then when it is found it won't have a smashed door or window and you save yourself £200 and the inconvenience of getting it repaired.
Thieves will nick your car whether it is locked or not. It is your choice if you want to pay £200 in repair bills or not, plus the extra for loss of no claims.
