RE: Burnley poppy field to commemorate First World War (LT, October 18).
This is a thought-provoking idea, and I, for one, would like to see this done, nationally, on an even larger scale, perhaps.
I mean, every hamlet has its very own War Memorial, eh?
Can't cost too much. Doesn't require cultivation. Plenty of these poppies on motorway verges in some parts.
