RE: ‘East Lancs servicemen welcome plans to tackle discrimination against armed forces’ – as someone who served, I never encountered discrimination anywhere.
Quite the opposite, in fact, even when not in my garrison home town.
I can only suppose that it is a sad few who see our forces in the modern theatres as somehow being their fault, when the blame lies elsewhere.
Returning service personnel should be treated with a little thanks for being prepared to volunteer to join up and not as some who share our town would have us believe.
Mind you, I cannot help but wonder how long it will be before our own home-grown terrorists start attacking pubs and clubs where soldiers frequent.
