I WAS interested to read about Blackburn’s parking fine hotspots (LT, July 29) The answer, though, is simple – don’t park illegally and they won’t collect any revenue.
In any town centre throughout the country, it is safe to assume there are parking restrictions, and Blackburn is no different.
Personally, I have more of an issue with the parking charges for council car parks which is putting off shoppers from visiting the town centre.
It drives shoppers to the likes of Peel Park or Hyndburn retail.
I know people who would prefer to drive to the Trafford Centre for its wide range of shops and free parking rather than get stung in Blackburn or Burnley town centre.
