REGARDING the proposed residential development in Clitheroe, when all these new houses have been built and a new city is born, the place will be gridlocked.
Due to the fact that it is an old market town, there is no scope for the reconstruction of the town’s road network.
Finding a parking space is difficult to say the least as it stands now. School places are hard to get, as are doctors’ appointments.
People will travel the 15 minutes to out of town supermarkets and shopping centres where parking is free or reasonably priced and everything is one-stop shop.
So the only ones to benefit from the destruction of our greenfield sites are the developers.
