How I wish that Ofsted could have been at the Year 6 performance of ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’ at St Barnabas School, Darwen. It was breathtaking.
These eleven-year-olds were word-perfect and the acting was superb, far above anything you would expect from this age group.
Even the fairies’ dancing looked professional. I went thinking it was going to be a modern version of the play but this wasn’t the case.
I attended St Barnabas’, my children did and now my youngest grandson is about to leave so I have sat through three generations of school productions, but this was outstanding.
After the adverse publicity which St Barnabas has received following the recent Ofsted visit, I felt I had to write to say there are many facets to education which Ofsted visits don’t cover but which are just as important to the all-round education of children.
Well done St Barnabas’.
