IN response to claims that the proposed new housing development in the Ribble Valley will harm Clitheroe and its market – just how many of the outside market stalls are occupied on so-called busy days?
It’s practically a ghost town down there, but the cafes are full with people having tea and a scone – and that will boost the town’s wealth!
Parking is only an issue because people want to park outside the cafe they are visiting, rather than walk a few metres, while the main car park is under-used.
If the protesters insist on being so defensive, the town centre will collapse! Only people like them will be able to afford these properties and will no doubt be in the next expansion protest after being indoctrinated.
The housing being proposed, taking into account the size of the area and minimal use of green belt, is acceptable.
