WITH reference to the campaign for 20mph limits on residential streets, I live on a road that is a route to a primary school.
There is only a pavement on one side but that does not stop pedestrians from walking in the road as they make their way to and from the school, including children, some even using foot scooters to ride down the road facing oncoming traffic.
Don’t the schools have an obligation to point out the dangers to these pupils?
It is not the motorist’s fault if people insist on walking in the road.
Roads are for cars, pavements for people. Never the twain shall meet!
