IF the new proposals for the school curriculum are so vital for education standards and in turn our economic future, why are free schools and academies not required to use it?

Does it indicate that free schools and academies are offering inadequate education standards? Or does it mean that, as they are promoted as offering a suitable academic education with good standards, state schools are being deprived of the same freedoms?

Education is multi- dimensional to target the different skills, abilities, personalities and learning rates of children, to develop tem into well-rounded adults.

However, if the curriculum is too prescriptive, it undermines the teachers’ skill and the aim of everyone for children to achieve their potential to the highest standard.

It can also undermine the confidence of some children, not stretch the skills of others, and undermine the enthusiasm of learning which is a lifelong attribute.
