There is a lot of ‘illegal’ parking in Pendle.
Some drivers think they can permanently park on the pavement, on yellow lines, in disabled or mother and baby parking places and pick up points outside supermarkets.
Oh, and they drive through and/or park in pedestrianised shopping precincts.
In Pendle we have two lots of traffic wardens – one lot checks out car parks, the other does on-street parking, and ne’er the twain shall meet.
As far as cars using the pedestrian precincts are concerned, the situation is farcical.
If the car is parked, that is the warden’s job. If it is moving, it is down to the police to catch them.
No wonder some people get away with illegal parking, because there is no joined- up thinking.
