Re Hyndburn residents claiming a windfarm is interfering with their TV signal – Haslingden is a low power relay transmitter designed to serve parts of Rossendale and Accrington which cannot receive a satisfactory signal from Winter Hill transmitter or Pendle Forest transmitter. It cannot carry all freeview channels nor be modified to do so and is only very low power.

Winter Hill and all high power main stations should, where new windfarms are impeding reception, have their transmission power increased to a high level, say 150-200kW to increase erp and fieldstrength to all viewers accross the transmitter service area, so all viewers with windfarms in the way get good pictures and all channels, with equal levels of signal strength and no problems.
