A pub in Oswaldtwistle is spreading some Christmas cheer this year by giving away two luxury Christmas dinners.
The White Bull is giving away a table for two on Christmas Day, as a way to give back to the community.
Callam Hartley, the company food and drink manager at the pub, said this is the first time the team has launched a competition like this.
They are doing it to spread some joy in the current difficult financial climate.
Callam said: “We are doing this is in order to give something back to someone who deserved to be spoiled.
“The economic outlook is challenging for everyone so this is just our way to bring a smile to a special couple.
The pub is asking customers to nominate a couple they think are deserving of the free meal.
Callam said: “It’s going to be difficult to choose who will be joining us for Christmas Day.
"We have already had so many special nominations so far and they just keep on rolling in.
“We will review the nominations as a team and whittle them down to the last 10 couples and draw them from a hat.
“Anybody can be nominated and this is to spoil a couple for a special day without any financial worries. Christmas Day is always expensive whether you dine at home or dine out.”
Drinks are not included in the price, although there will be a complementary bucks fizz on arrival.
Each adult dinner is priced at £120, meaning the total cost of the giveaway is £240.
Duck leg terrine, roast turkey, fillet of beef, boozy tiramisu and grilled halibut are some of the food items on the menu.
Callam said: “Due to paying staff double time with extra hidden cost for the day and unfortunately we have to price at £120 per person and £60 per child for the day.
“We have put out heart and soul into making Oswaldtwistle a food and drink destination place for people to come experience and enjoy.”
The winning couple will be announced in November.
