WORK has started on playground makeovers in Watery Lane and Eccleshill, Darwen.
Contractors will be at both sites for the next few weeks upgrading existing play facilities and introducing new ones as part of a £2.5million investment in play areas across Blackburn with Darwen, from the Government’s Play Pathfinder programme.
Coun Julie Slater has campaigned for years to get the facilities improved along with Eccleshill Garden Residents Association and resident Irene Guy.
Coun Michael Law-Riding, executive member for leisure and play champion for the borough said: “The Pathfinder programme will bring opportunities to enhance the play facilities and improve lives of children across the borough.”
