BLACKSNAPE Residents’ Group is urging people to join in with a village tidy up on Sunday, June 6.
From 8am, residents will mobilise to pick up litter, maintain dry stone walls, trim grass verges, and carry out planting.
The aim is to improve the look of the village in preparation for its entry into the East Rural Scarecrow Festival, taking place on the weekend of July 2 to 4.
So far the group has secured the support of local safety equipment firm ARCO, which has supplied plastic rubble sacks, industrial gloves, a dozen litter pickers and the same number of high-visability jackets.
Anyone who wishes to take part in the clean-up or in other community events can contact organiser Martyn Skipper by visiting www.blacksnape.co.uk.
