A clubhouse has been opened at Blacksnape Bowling Club.
The club, next to the Blacksnape playing fields, was set up a year ago.
Members have been fundraising and applying for grants to convert a brick garage that used to store gardening equipment and tractors, into the club house.
They are looking for additional funding to install a portable toilet, running water and electricity so the facilities can be extended to school pupils.
Club secretary Elizabeth Whitaker said: “Once we have those, schoolchildren can get involved.
“But the facility is for everyone – people who don’t feel they can bowl can do other jobs such as scoring and marking.”
