DARWEN MP Jake Berry has launched a campaign to save an Edgworth bus service.
From October 27, the Arriva 537, which runs hourly between Bolton and Edgworth, will terminate at Bromley Cross.
Over the weekend, more than 30 bus users from the village volunteered their time to deliver leaflets with Mr Berry and village councillor Colin Rigby.
Mr Berry said: “It is really important that Edgworth has a decent bus service and that is why I am doing everything I can to make sure we keep it. It is a vital lifeline for the communities of Edgworth, Chapeltown, Turton and the surrounding rural areas.”
“I would encourage everyone to support our campaign to save the Edgworth bus service by signing our petition.”
People wishing to sign the petition can do so at www.saveourbus.tk and Mr Berry will present the petition to Blackburn with Darwen Council later this week.
