STEVEN and Mandy Worsley have got the green light for their dream of a bed and breakfast hotel for parents with newly-adopted children.
Borough planning councillors approved their proposals for Chapel Farm, in High Street, Turton. It will enable them to turn a struggling farm and dilapidated barn they inherited into a thriving country complex.
Officials originally said their proposal breached green-belt guidelines but councillors have allowed the scheme provided the couple, who have two adopted children of their own, pay £1,500 towards affordable housing and play space in the Darwen area.
Mrs Worsley, 41, said: “We are very happy. This means we can realise our dream of having a place for parents with newly adopted children to come and stay in beautiful rural surroundings.”
