CHILDREN, parents and staff at a nursery held a week of fundraising activities, bringing in more than £3,000 for the Sam Shaw Appeal.
Children at Nook Barn Nursery in Blackburn took part in a week-long Lion King danceathon, with the nursery transformed into a jungle, which raised £1,739.10.
The children danced for the four-year-old neuroblastoma sufferer every day for the week during their music time.
Staff took part in a sponsored walk, which raised £1,481, taking the total raised to £3,220.10.
Laura Knowles, owner of the nursery, said: “We have a charity that we support every year and I have never raised this much before.
“It was a tremendous achievement by all concerned.”
The parents of Hoddlesden youngster Sam Shaw need to raise £250,000 for him to receive essential immunotherapy treatment in Philadelphia in the US.
