STAFF, youngsters and parents at a pre-school have achieved a rare ‘outstanding’ distinction after an inspection by education watchdogs.
Scallywags, based at Turton Edgworth CE Primary, was said to offer a ‘superb range’ of activities for the 39 children on the roll there.
Every few years nurseries and pre-school provision are assessed, with specific reference to child development, and the overall enviroment provided for their young charges.
Ofsted inspector Rachel Ayo said the ‘excellent levels of enthusiasm and motivation, significantly enhance children’s learning and development’.
Staff were praised for creating ‘exceptional partnerships with parents’, including settling-in programmes and home visits, which ensured children’s needs were ‘exceedingly well met’.
Children’s behaviour was ‘exceptional’ and youngsters ‘highly sociable’ and ‘extremely helpful and kind to one another’.
