A MAN had to be rescued from Rivington Pike after suffering a seizure while out walking.
The 36-year-old regular walker had been out at the Chorley beauty spot on Wednesday evening with three other men, a child and three dogs.
But the emergency services were called when he collapsed.
Because of the remote location, the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, the police helicopter and emergency ambulance was summoned and managed to locate the casualty at the base of the stone steps leading to the summit of the local moorland landmark of Rivington Pike.
The man from Wigan was given oxygen and taken to hospital.
