A HUGE haul of cannabis plants has been discovered by police on an industrial estate in Chorley.
Around 300 mature plants were uncovered after a warrant was executed at premises in Drumhead Road, Chorley North Industrial Estate.
Two units, close to the M61, were filled with plants which have an estimated street value of £100,000.
Police were alerted to units 11 and 12 on the estate after passers-by reported a strong, herbal smell.
The plants and hydroponic equipment used to speed their growth have been seized by police.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “The premises are small industrial units let out on a short-term basis.
“We believe false details were used to secure the lease.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who saw anyone coming, or going, from the buildings in recent months.”
