THE ancient courtyards at Hoghton Tower echoed to the sounds of the Second World War over the holiday weekend.
Crowds were wowed by a display of 16 parachutists, a six-wheeled armoured car, and relics from the war.
Organisers also set up a German army encampment in the grounds, and rigged up a working military radio, as well as holding a shooting display and ‘Great Escape’ re-enactment.
Period hairstyling and cookery demonstrations were also on offer at the event, on Sunday.
