Chorley motorcycle ace Paul Bolton is all revved up to help a life-saving charity.
The 29-year-old daredevil is fast becoming one of the rising stars of Extreme Enduro racing, where competitors tackle tough cross-country courses with tricky obstacles.
On the way Paul is raising money for the North West Air Ambulance.
Not an event goes by without Paul proudly wearing the charity’s logo on his leathers.
He regularly competes all over Europe in Extreme End-uro where races can last up to 12 hours on some of the toughest terrain.
On his powerful KTM EXC 300 bike, Paul is aware that he and his competitors may need the help of the air ambulance if things go wrong.
Paul said: “Almost all the courses we race on are out in the middle of nowhere, and if you have an accident, there is no way to get an ambulance to us.
"On more than one occasion the air ambulance has been called to help an injured rider.”
Paul’s next event will be in Barcelona and charity’s officials are watching his progress with interest. Chief executive Lynda Brislin said, “Paul is one of the growing number of people who are supporting us.
"His is a very dangerous sport and he realises the need for the air ambulance.
"We are very proud that Paul carried our logo on his leathers and we wish him all the best with his racing this year.”
