A company has been given permission to generate electricity by converting methane emissions at a landfill site.
Querica Ltd can now harness the methane at the Clayton Hall site, close to Dawson Lane, Clayton-le-Woods.
Waste has been transported to the former sand quarry for decades.
The plans included a landfill gas generator, offices and a stores building on the site.
Methane from the site is currently burned off, which causes some air emissions.
