A Chorley model is looking for local support in her bid to be crowned FHM magazine’s High Street Honey 2009.

Keely Webster, 21, of Bolton Street, has reached the final 100 in the modelling competition, which offers a £10,000 prize.

The former pupil of Balshaw’s High School, Church Road, Leyland, was one of nearly 14,000 hopefuls to have her picture entered in the competition.

She said: “My aunt entered me into the competition.

"I knew nothing about it and I was pretty shocked when I found out that I had made it into the final 100.”

Her aunt Lisa Webster, an amateur photographer, also from Chorley, took some pictures of the former Farington Primary School pupil and sent them to High Street Honeys, FHM’s annual search for the perfect girl-next-door.

A few weeks later the magazine called to say that she had made the shortlist.

Keely went to an audition at Malmaison Hotel, Manchester, eventually winning through to the final 100.

The 100 short-listed contestants are all featured in the current issue of FHM, and the competition will be decided by a public vote which opened online today and runs until November 27.

The first-year fine arts student at the University of Central Lancashire, will need to finish in the top ten to progress to the competition’s grand final early next year.

“Most of my artwork is based on child poverty so if I did win I would use the money to visit Brazil’s street children and try to help them in some way,” she added.

The winner will receive £10,000, a modelling contract with FHM.
