Chorley man suffered burns after falling asleep with cigarette
A CHORLEY man was taken to hospital with stomach burns after falling asleep with a lit cigarette last night.
The Mackay Croft resident, thought to be in his 50s, had been watching television when the incident happened at about 7.30pm on Saturday.
Fire crews were called because smoke had filled the living room, while paramedics took the man to Royal Preston Hospital.
Firefighters said the incident highlights the need for people to take care whilst smoking.
